Analysis – A class 4 0-80 6F h’cap where I had 2 to choose from Rich Again and Razin Hell. I sided with Razin Hell as this 8 times winning 7yo is now 5lb below his last winning mark and although he’s mainly known now as a 5F horse he does have some very good 6F form with 6 of those 8 wins coming over 6F the last of todays mark of 78. Of those 6 wins 5 have come on the AW all 5 at Southwell which is a tough 6F so no reason he shouldn’t see it out here even with the uphill finish. He’s only run once at the track when 4th beaten 1/2L over 5F in a class 3 0-95 h’cap. I went against Rich Again in the end as his 3 course wins have all been over 5F and his last run was over CD when beaten 9L although in mitigation he did have JSpencer on board that day.

Analysis – He ran well 3 runs ago at Wetherby when 8th to Age of Glory on heavy ground, he fell chasing next time out when still going very well and last time out at Catterick he ran over a trip too far for him,3m1+. Now back down to just short of 2m4 and down to 78 thts 5lb below last time and 9lb below hs run over CD 3 runs ago. Rose Dobbin has had 1/4 in last 14days and with conditions to suit would be very disappointing if he couldn’t at least get in the first 3 home.

Analysis – I did hesitate doing this one as I have a pet hate for races with less than 8 runners as the EW value diminishes once you get down to only 2 places. Having said that he’s the only CD winner in the race and is now 7lb below his last winning mark and 5lb below Fontwells winning mark. Although he’s now a 10yo and the oldest in the race by 2years he still boasts some good form despite his last win coming in a hunter chase at Musselburgh. I had him at 12-1 when an 8 runner race so 25-1 with only 6 left in looked a bit of value now the big negative against him is the ground as his 4 rules wins have come on good x2 good/firm x1 and good/soft although he did win his PTP over 3m on soft ground so a glimmer of hope he’ll act on this ground.He’s run on heavy 4 times with a pulled up last time out at Carlisle 2x 3rd place finishes and a last of 6 so not very conclusive.Class wise he’s in same company as last time but time before was a class 2 0-135 at Kelso when he ran a very encouraging race.
