Analysis – Five career starts to date, winning three and finishing second the other twice and I’d expect another bold show from just a 4lb higher mark than for his neck defeat at York last month (Corgi and Collide just in behind). He went off favourite for that race and with plenty more expected to come over this trip I think this gelding will go very close especially if improving further on that latest run. He won on handicap debut comfortably and he should handle the slightly softer surface better than most having won on good-to-soft on second start. For those who like a nicely priced each-way poke I’d give Top Tug a chance on ground he’ll love, 1lb above highest winning mark and has finished 4-5-7 in the last three runnings of this.

Analysis – Best form has come over this 7f trip so can be forgiven two runs over 1m either side of a three-quarters-of-a-length second at Brighton (7f) from a pound higher. This filly is 4lb below only handicap win which was achieved last August and the more the ground dries out the better. This four-year old has been running in higher grades than this over the past year and this drop back into class 4 company off this mark will help a lot, I think she’s slightly overpriced.

Analysis – Three consistent runs from this filly so far this season, beaten by a neck and just under a length along with a nose victory sandwiched in between, as a result has been raised 8lb but she’s going the right way and further progress is certainly a possibility now dropping in both trip/grade. Won’t mind a little give in the ground as won on good-to-soft and stays a mile so if stamina comes into play she’s got even stronger claims.
