Analysis – Arrived from France on the back of two soft ground wins over 2m-2m1f and has began life in the UK well despite not winning yet in three starts. A good third on debut behind a couple of decent horses before running fourth on handicap debut at Cheltenham behind future Betfair Hurdle winner Al Dancer. He was beaten fur-lengths the last day from a pound lower and with further progress likely this five-year old should go close off the same mark with the slightly softer ground likely to suit better.

Analysis – This ten-year old has won two Scottish Grand Nationals over this 4m trip and was also fifth in that same race last year. Those two wins both came from this mark of 146 and the drying ground will play right to his strengths with him showing his best from on spring ground. He ran a good race at Taunton on his latest start and if arriving in a similar mood to that or either of those National wins I think he’s the one to beat with Paul Nicholls’ yard currently going through a purple patch.

Analysis – Had won three times over hurdles before coming unstuck in the Albert Bartlett last season. He’s taken well to chasing this season, twice coming up short behind the highly-rated La Bague Au Roi but made it third time lucky when winning at Doncaster over this 3m (in a match) and took another forward step when beaten only three-lengths by 149-rated On The Blind Side over C&D when conceding 6lb to that rival. This multiple point-to-point winner makes his handicap debut off a mark of 145 on ground that he’ll relish and if everything falls into place I think he’s a major player in this.
