Analysis – Though yet to add to his handicap debut success at Epsom at the end of August last year, this three-year old has been running some good races in stronger heats than this in four starts this term. His stand-out bit of form was on penultimate outing when third in a big-field handicap at Newmarket where that form has been advertised well since, with the four directly behind him all winning since. Up a pound for that he again wasn’t beaten far when fourth of six at Epsom (third has won subsequently) and the drop back down to a class 5 might just help. He’d usually be off top-weight but is granted weight-for-age allowance and should again be competitive if arriving in similar form to recent outings.

Analysis – Three times a winner this season and his progress may well have not finished just yet on the evidence of a length defeat just last Friday on good-to-soft. That was a better race than this on paper and the return to a quicker surface is likely to suit the three-year old, who is 1lb well-in after that run last week. Had previously finished a staying-on fourth over the extended five-furlongs here and this extra half-furlong could well see him overturn the half-length that separated him and Coolagh Magic in third (his best runs have come over this 6f trip).
