Today's Horse Racing Tips

Todays Racing Tip - SMARTY WILD
Time & Track - 3.10 Cheltenham (25/10)
Best Odds - 7/1 @ Bet365

Stake - 1pt win

Analysis - After two average performances in bumpers, this gelding has really taken to hurdling having finished a close second on debut in a maiden before springing somewhat of a surprise at Ludlow and took further strides forward when landing two handicaps (2m1f & 2m3f) to secure a hat-trick. He’s off 10lb higher for this reappearance but the further step up in trip is likely to suit judged on breeding alone and with the champ Richard Johnson on his back I think he’s going to be fancied if ready after his summer break. All wins have come on good-to-soft and still unexposed on anything softer (bumper performances on that ground can be forgiven).

Todays Racing Tip - LAHORE
Time & Track - 3.35 Doncaster (25/10)
Best Odds - 13/2 @ Ladbrokes

Stake - 1pt win

Analysis - Has a couple of 6f ins to his name including back in August from a 7lb lower mark and has since ran two cracking races, firstly when beaten a head at Thirsk by the re-opposing Bielsa (now 2lb better off) before staying on strongly through the line the last day at York when fifth in a big-field that included a few of these who finished in behind. Conditions should be fine and I still think there’s room for maneuver off this current mark and a repeat of that Thirsk run in particular would give this gelding strong credentials, especially as he’s unbeaten in two visits to this course.

Todays Racing Tip - GARRANE
Time & Track - 4.55 Cheltenham (25/10)
Best Odds - 7/1 @ Bet365

Stake - 1pt win

Analysis - No win in six chase starts to date but has placed in five of those, including the last twice both off this mark of 122. He’s had a summer break and returns a fresh horse which should hopefully be fine having finished second (beaten three-lengths) at Chepstow almost a year ago to the day on reappearance. I think this extended 3m1f on a course like Cheltenham will help this seven-year old who does stay further and any forecast rain they receive should aid his cause better than most of the other runners in the field (best runs have come with plenty of give, including both wins coming on heavy). Jeremy Scott has his string in decent enough form and Martin McIntyre, who claims 3lb, has tasted success at Prestbury Park a couple of times before - a very open and unpredictable amateur’s contest but if ready after a break I can see this horse going well.
