Analysis - This six-year old returns from a short-break having ran a couple of nice races in defeat in the early part of the season. He’s just 3lb above the mark in which he was beaten just a neck off over the extended 3m at Aintree back in October and is a pound lower than when a decent fourth in a higher grade at Cheltenham over the bare 3m. He’s gone well after a break twice before so may be best to catch him fresh, the conditions aren’t too much of a problem and technically doesn’t have to carry top-weight if you put Lewis Stones 7lb-claim into the equation. If showing his best form back down in grade I think he’ll take some beating.

Analysis - This mare won over C&D in a novice hurdle on her penultimate start, beating the re-opposing Smart Lass by just under two-lengths and she should confirm that running if able to put her latest run behind her. She stumbled badly before the turn for home and was eased down by her jockey so can be forgiven that, Brian Hughes is back in the saddle (successful on her two starts ago) and her course form, including on the flat, reads very well 1-1-5-1-3-1-0.This will be just her second start in a handicap in this discipline so she’s very unexposed and a rating of 109 could well be within her range on ground that she’s won on twice before.
