Analysis – This four-year old has taken to handicapping well, improving mostly on each start. He won over the extended mile at Nottingham from 9lb lower three starts back and though not winning in two subsequent starts he’s arguably ran to a better level than for that win. He was second over this 1m2f trip at Newmarket (winner since a close second in a hot handicap) before going down by just under a length to a well-handicapped rival. Those both came in better races than this so should find this easier and looks capable of conceding weight all-round with him versatile in regards the ground.

Analysis – Needs to put a below average performance at Ascot a fortnight ago behind her (handicap debut) but has been eased a pound in the weights and the softer conditions will be more preferable than the last day. She was a decisive winner before that at Goodwood in a novice event (1m, soft) and if able to reproduce that form again then she should be very competitive and comes from the Andrew Balding yard who have won this race in 2015 & 2016.

Analysis – Arrives here and great form having won his last two and this eight-year old is only 2lb higher than for the latest of those. That puts him on a mark of 79 which in fact is the same mark as when winning this contest two year ago. His trainer travels up from Kent for just this one runner to a course in which his gelding has won twice and placed on four other occasions. The draw in stall 12 isn’t ideal around here but it’s over the extended 1m5f and if breaking well this prominent racer should be able to get a good position under Kieran Fox who has won on him three times previously.
