Todays Racing Tip – INDIAN CASTLE
Time & Track – 4.20 CHELTENHAM (FRI)
Best Odds – 10-1 now 11-2

Analysis – Amateur riders chase where the one I like only ran once last season when 2nd at Newton Abbot he’s been dropped 5lb for that and gets into this 0-125 h’cap off a mark of 127. He’s 7lb below the mark that saw him run 6th at the 2016 Cheltenham festival when 22L behind Cause of Causes. He is a 4 times rules winner and 1 PTP with one at Cheltenham on the new course over a shorter 2m5 trip. He was fav for Cheltenham festival h’cap in 2014 off 140 but didn’t run up to his form. If fully wound up for this seasonal debut will have a big chance with Gold Cup winning jockey Sam Waley-Cohen taking the ride for the in form Ian Williams.

Todays Racing Tip – COTTERSROCK
Time & Track – 3.10 CHELTENHAM (FRI)
Best Odds – 50-1 now 33-1

Analysis – Although its a class 3 0-140 h’cap hurdle over 2m5 the top weight is only rated 131. The one I have gone with is a 3 times winner a NH Flat race at Down Royal on soft ground, a class 3 2m5 h’cap hurdle off 125 on good ground at Kempton and a 2m4 class 3 Nov chase at Uttoxeter on good/soft. Since that last win 12 months ago he has mixed hurdle and chases with disappointing results seeing his mark drop from 137 to 117 less another 7lb for his claimer. He has run at Cheltenham before when 4th in a class 2 novice chase. He’s had differing mixing of head gear for his last few runs and today they’ve gone with tongue tie and blinkers. His trainer likes having winners here so even though he’s a 50-1 outsider he could run into a place and it may pay to shop around for extra places if any are on offer.

Todays Racing Tip – MAN OF PLENTY
Time & Track – 5.30 CHELTENHAM (FRI)
Best Odds – 9-1 now 6-1

Analysis – He’s a 5 times winner who hasn’t won for a while but showed 2 races ago at Uttoxeter over 2m4 that he was coming back to a bit of form. Then last time he was our runner at a massive 33-1 in a hot Chepstow Class 2 h’cap he ran a stormer to be 1L 2nd off same mark today and down to class 3. He has run twice here before finishing 3rd in a novice and 2nd to William Bonney in a 14 runner h’cap of a 3lb higher mark than todays. Quite a few big stables represented so it may prove to be a hotter contest than first looks so he will have to be in top form to win.

Todays Racing Tip – SECRET MISSILE
Time & Track – 9.15 WOLVERHAMPTON (FRI)
Best Odds – 16-1 now 11-1

Analysis – Been disappointing for quite a while now, has been my nap on 2 recent occassions. This is his first ever race in Class 6 after he was dropped a further 5lb by the h’capper to a career low of 60. He is unbelievably well treated but equally regressive so there has to come a point when one out weighs the other. His best recent run was on the AW at Newcastle when not knocked about in 13th place. He is a 6 times winner 2 on the AW the last being also his last win off 87 over 6F at Chelmsford in Oct 2015.He has a career high mark of 93 when 3L 6th in class 2 sprint at Chelmsford in Nov 2015 now 33lb lower he’s been given a real chance here.

Todays Racing Tip – OUTBACK TRAVELLER (NAP)
Time & Track – 3.35 DONCASTER (FRI)
Best Odds – 12-1 now 7-1fav

Analysis – Been very hit and miss so far since winning the Wokingham at Ascot in 2016. He won that off a mark of 100 today he runs off 97 the same as his fast finishing 5th last time out at York. Prior to that at Ascot he hinted that he was coming back when travelling really well only to weaken last furlong on bad ground. Back on good groundlast time he showed the run at Ascot was showing the right signs and if he can build on that agin here he should take a lot of beating provided JSpencer doesn’t over do the waiting tactics. He wore cheek pieces for the first time last time and he retains them here. Intersting JS rides him instead of more fancied top weight Shanghai Glory. He’s a strong and confident looking nap.

Todays Racing Tip – LUCY THE PAINTER
Time & Track – 2.50 NEWBURY (FRI)
Best Odds – 10-1 drifter now 14-1

Analysis – A class 4 0-85 where the one I like is top weight off just 82.She’s a 5 times winner 3/9 on AW and 2/25 on turf. This time 12 months ago she was rated 100 running in listed company and class 2 h’caps. This is her first run in class 4 since completing a hattrick at Lingfield in May 2016, that win was off 84. Her 2 turf wins came on good ground, she has got placed form on soft surface but I think the most important factor for her is a drop in trip 6 of her last 7 runs have been over 1m4-1m6 the other over 1m2 but on heavy ground off 88 at haydock. These conditions should be ideal for her.
