Analysis – This gelding returned from a 470-day absence to finish a good 3rd at Exeter over shorter in bottomless ground so the return to a quicker surface over a trip in which from three outings has resulted in a win and two placed efforts can see him come on from that reappearance run. If you look back at his juvenile form then you’ve got to think he is very much overpriced, he was fifth in the Fred Winter before being judged good enough to take on the likes of Apple’s Jade, Footpad & Sceau Royal. He was pulled-up in that Grade 1 but that’s understandable in that company and if reproducing anywhere near that level of form from a mark of 126 he should outrun his odds. His trainer has only had 12 runners here, one win & seven placed and David Bass looks a good booking for the ride.

Analysis – A return to form the last day, after a no show at Wincanton on his penultimate start, he was just denied by the re-opposing Midnight Bliss at Fontwell and has a 1lb-swing in the ratings which may be the difference here. He won his only outing at this course, which came over this extended 3m1f trip and if putting his best foot forward I’d be surprised if this gelding isn’t in the mix at the finish.
