Horse Racing tips results : Round Up

Hi All,

After some comments regarding the last 2 days runners being poor I thought I would take a look back at them as see where if at all I went wrong with the selections.

ARTFUL PRINCE 12-1 finished last beaten 82L at 8-1..
Yes he’s run a shocker but a surprise no not all, he’s clearly got issues as he’s done this before on numerous occasions.
last of 12 beaten 43L at Newmarket
32nd beaten 29L at Newmarket
12th of 12 beaten 26L at 14-1 Ripon
13th of 15 beaten beaten 28L 12-1
6th of 8 beaten 28L 6-1
9th of 10 beaten 41L at 9-2
as you can see he can throw in the odd shocker but his good form gave him a leading chance and at 12-1 was worth taking that chance. Why did he run so badly, well he was beaten after just 50yds having been slowly away he had bad track position racing on the outside of the field giving away plenty of ground. When he tried to get involved 3 out it was very clear he was going nowhere so the jockey just stopped riding him and coasted him home, its the horses way he just seems to give up if things are going his way.

RIZAL PARK 25-1 7th beaten 38L
If I could have cancelled my bet 2 mins before the off I would have done, he was a wash with sweat something he’s never done before in his 28 race career so clearly something was amiss with him and I would just put a line straight through that form. Thats something thats completely unpredictable and unforseen.

SEVE 6th of 13 9-1 beaten 4L
Again nothing I would change about the selection as I said in the write up 1-7-1-1 when in Class 4, had it said that stall 11 was a huge negative, I’m sorry but people banging on about draw bias on a straight track with 11 runners are being misled by whatever they are reading. Stall 11 at Chester is a negative stal; 11 at Doncaster is no excuse. For me the reason he didn’t finish in the top 3 was the way race was run. He was the pace in the race but only 4 came up stands side the other 9 stayed far side thus he had nothing to race with.

NICEOFYOUTOTELLME 9th of 10 16-1
He was disappointing, held up too far off the pace, pulled too hard for the first half mile. The time was 6 secs above standard tells you they went slow too slow for him.

DIVINE CALL 12-1 4th beaten 1/2L
Most disappointing result for me as I was very confident he’d at least hit the frame. He wasn’t far away and from stall 16 his jockey did well to get a good position round Tatenham Corner the old boy just simply wasn’t able to quicken last 100yds with the other 3 and got ran out of a place.

HOLIDAY MAGIC 12th 20-1 beaten 6L
He travelled very well throughout the race just didn’t have the same finishing kick the others had possibly down to him being more of a 7F horse. The market was very volatile with gambles going on everywhere Shipyard 14-1 to 4-1f ran well wrong side of track, Sakhee Return 33-1 to 16-1 ran well stayed on late, Intense Style 25-1 to 10-1 again ran well for 2nd. The winner Handsome Dude I tipped last time out at Thirsk where he finished last of 17 beaten 16L and then he does that, but that shows sprinters are a breed unto themselves and I think there was plenty of merit in Holiday Magics run, he was slow away and jockey switched as if he was coming stands side which ultimately was a mistake as pace and winner stayed farside, if he stayed where he was drawn then he would have finished much closer.
In conclusion they might have under performed or run dismally but I still feel on the whole they weren’t bad selections just ran below expectations. Hopefully we can get a winner or two over the weekend and I’ll be back on Monday to review the weekends runners.

Good Luck
Gary
