Today’s Horse Racing Tips
Todays Racing Tip – TOP AND DROP
Time & Track – 2.10 Chepstow (07/01)
Best Odds – 4/1 @ Sky Bet
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Still a maiden though looked set to go very close on chase debut before unseating at the third last when level with the eventual winner. That run came from a 10lb higher mark and a recent third at this course over a shorter distance puts the eight-year old right in the mix. He was a close second here from a pound higher mark over hurdles, the ground should be fine and he’s still fairly unexposed on fifth chase start. Should be involved and give his trainer another good run with the yard currently in flying form (42% strike-rate in past fortnight).
Result – Won +4
Todays Racing Tip – WOT A SHOT
Time & Track – 2.25 Musselburgh (07/01)
Best Odds – 11/2 @ Sky Bet
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – This ten-year old might not have the best strike-rate but looks to have been given a nice opportunity to add to his four career wins in a weak looking contest. He was a C&D winner from a 5lb higher mark just over a year ago and the ground has come just right for the gelding here. He was far from disgraced against stronger opposition here on reappearance from 7lb higher (two winners have come out of it including one at listed level) and he can be easily forgiven the last day on account of the softer surface. Has good course form and is sitting on a winning mark, I’d expect him to run his race.
Result – Won +5.5
Todays Racing Tip – FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHT
Time & Track – 3.50 Chepstow (07/01)
Best Odds – 8/1 @ Sky Bet
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – If looking at his form figures you’d think he’d not have much of a chance here having not been closer than fifth on any of his past five outings, but they’ve all come in much better grades. He returned from a break with a fair fifth in a listed event at Sandown before a similar effort on RPR’s in a Grade 3 at Ascot just before Christmas. His mark has slipped subsequently and now dropping back into class 4 company can see him in a much better light (won when last in this grade). Has ran over 2m3f just the once, which was when beaten a length in second from 4lb higher in a pretty hot little handicap and usually comes on for each outing he has, conditions are fine and is more than capable of giving the favourite a thing or two to think about, still only a six-year old.
