Today’s Horse Racing Tips
Todays Racing Tip – JOVIAL JOEY
Time & Track – 1.20 Kelso (10/11)
Best Odds – 3/1 @ Bet365
Stake – 2pt win
Analysis – This seven-year old has been in good form over the past few outings, winning over 2m4f at Perth before running two good races in defeat the last twice with the form of both working out well (especially the most recent when 2nd behind Exitas who won a class 2 by 11-lengths since). He’s 5lb higher for this which is expected as he pulled well clear of the third and Paddy Brennan retains the ride.
Result – Lost
Todays Racing Tip – MCGROARTY
Time & Track – 3.20 Aintree (10/11)
Best Odds – 8/1 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Began life over fences with two pretty comfortable successes before unseating his rider in a match the last day when just about to be joined two out. He’s got a bit more to do in this more competitive field but is open to further progress and if the ground stays dry he’d have a chance. Sean Bowen back on board (won on him on chasing debut).

Todays Racing Tip – PRESENT MAN
Time & Track – 3.35 Wincanton (10/11)
Best Odds – 11/2 @ William Hill
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Paul Nicholls has won four ofthe last ten renewals of the Badger Ales Trophy and he has three arrows at it this time, with my selection being last year’s winner. He arrives here just 2lb above the mark in which he was a year ago and again has the presence of Bryony Frost in the saddle. He ended last campiang with a well beaten 3rd at Sandown over 3m5f but that trip probably stretched him and now back down to 3m1f can go close. He’s gone well fresh almost every time (won four times after a 97+ day-break) and has no issues with the ground.
Result – Won +5.5
Todays Racing Tip – KING’S ODYSSEY
Time & Track – 2.40 Aintree (10/11)
Best Odds – 15/2 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Would prefer softer going but has been dropped into class 2 on return from a summer break having competed Grade 3’s the last three outings. He was 3rd on all three of those runs with the most recent coming from this mark of 139 when beaten six-lengths in the Brown Advisory Plate at the Festival behind The Storyteller. He’s been dropped slightly in trip back to 2m4f (1/1 at trip) and has gone well fresh before so if ready and trying must have a great chance off this mark, especially if there’s any type of soft in the going.

Todays Racing Tip – SHENANIGANS
Time & Track – 1.30 Doncaster (10/11)
Best Odds – 12/1 @ Ladbrokes
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – This filly steps up to 1m2f for the first time though has hinted that this stiffer test is maybe what she needs to land a race of this nature. She ran well the last day from an unfavourable draw at Lingfield when beaten three-lengths in fifth. Her two previous visits here saw her lose by just over a length and by a head and the fact that Andrea Atzeni is back on board boasts more confidence with his record on the four-year old reading 4-1-1-2-6. She’s versatile ground-wise and looks slightly overpriced.
