Analysis – Looks a progressive horse and ran some fine races last year especially when beaten only three lengths in the Queen’s Vase by Stradivarius (rated 118). He also chased home the now 115-rated Defoe and his second in the Segaro last weekend behind Torcedor was a good effort. He looks a good horse over these staying trips and may well come into that category of a ‘group horse in a handicap’ here so at the odds looks worthy of a punt from a fair draw and most his winning has come in this class (3/5).

Analysis – Had been struggling in handicaps this winter on ground that was too soft for him but two recent outings have shown that a better surface is what this six-year old needs having won over C&D before following that up with a good second at Huntingdon the last day. He’s up a further 2lb for that but is clearly in good heart and worthy of keeping on side in current form.
