Todays Racing Tip – EN MEME TEMPS
Time & Track – 1.10 Newbury (16/01)
Best Odds – 4/1 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Showed glimpses of ability in bumper/novice hurdles and has improved on each outing over timber. He was beaten five-lengths in his last run in novice company before undergoing a wind operation and made a pleasing start to life in handicaps when filling second place spot again and had to concede 13lb to the winner that day. He’s a five-year old with plenty of improvement in him, unexposed in this sphere and his trainer Tom Lacey continues in fine fettle, should be there or thereabouts.

Todays Racing Tip – THREE STAR GENERAL
Time & Track – 2.35 Plumpton (16/01)
Best Odds – 13/2 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – The fact this horse stays longer trips, I was surprised to see him held up over 2m3f at Haydock when last seen at the end of December (passed beaten horses late on). The step back up in trip is the right move having been beaten just a neck at Ascot last February, a run that came from a 4lb higher mark. On that form he’s a major player here and the booking of Tom Scudamore is a positive one (best runs have come under his guidance). Trainer David Pipe has a 23% strike-rate at the East Sussex track and I’m giving this gelding one more chance as his mark looks tempting.

Todays Racing Tip – MISTER MALARKY
Time & Track – 2.50 Newbury (16/01)
Best Odds – 4/1 @ Unibet
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Won only the once over hurdles but has taken to chasing very nicely. He won on chase debut at Plumpton when staying on very strongly over 2m3f (form of that race has worked out well) and the step up to this trip wasn’t a problem when a good third over C&D almost a month ago. He’s up a further 2lb for that latest effort but it’s early days in this sphere and should be more to come from Colin Tizzard’s six-year old with Harry Cobden taking over in the saddle.
