Analysis – This ten-year old needs to put a bad run at Newcastle behind him in January but prior to that he’d been running well, including when third in the Rowland Meyrick from a 3lb higher mark. He was also beaten by half-a-length before that in this grade and the two horses that won those races (Lake View Lad & Vintage Clouds) were second and third in Tuesday’s Ultima at the festival. The heavy ground is more to his liking (which he’s not had this season) and he’s handicapped to run well from a pound lower than his highest winning perch with course form figures reading 2-1-3.
