Todays Racing Tip – CHAPELLI
Time & Track – 1.50 Newmarket (17/04)
Best Odds – 5/1 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – This three-year old was caught in the closing stages last week on handicap debut at Pontefract off a big-weight and is able to run here off the same mark. This is a tougher assignment but he’s open to further improvement in this sphere and the form of some of his runs from last season read well. He was beaten three-quarters of a length in a Sandown listed event when staying-on over 5f and arguably was better when just under four-lengths off the winner in the Group 3 Keeneland Stakes at Ascot when back up to this 6f trip. James Doyle has won on the colt and placed on other two outings on him including the last day and he retains the ride.

Todays Racing Tip – MILL GREEN
Time & Track – 2.05 Cheltenham (17/04)
Best Odds – 4/1 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Nicky Henderson has saddled four of the last six winners of this which could be significant here with this gelding. He won a couple of novice hurdles last summer and his two runs this season have been good, firstly not beaten far in third at Fakenham before a staying-on fourth in the Grade 3 EBF final at Sandown, form of which has been well advertised since. He’ll appreciate the quicker ground and Nico de Boinville (2/2 on the seven-year old) replaces the 3lb claimer.

Todays Racing Tip – CITY TOUR
Time & Track – 4.00 Beverley (17/04)
Best Odds – 5/1 @ Betfair
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – First three runs last season in novice/maiden company were fair efforts on a mixture of soft & heavy ground and this colt improved on those with victory on handicap debut after a winter break, beating a couple who re-oppose here. That came on good-to-firm from the widest draw and he was by no means the finished article that day looking very green and with that experience under his belt he’s entitled to take a further step forward from a 3lb higher mark. Attainment holds strong claims on the back of a close second last week from this mark but I’m happy to take him on at the prices for Johnston/Fanning who teamed up to win the 2016 running of this.
