Today’s Horse Racing Tips
Todays Racing Tip – SCUZEME
Time & Track – 2.55 Hamilton (19/06)
Best Odds – 7/2 @ William Hill
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Has improved on each of his five runs since switching yards from David Barron to Phillip Makin. Won on penultimate start at Thirsk over this 6f trip and from a 7lb higher mark at the same track produced a fine second (beaten just under a length) in a 15-runner handicap. He’s due to go up a pound but remains on that mark of 71 at present and this looks slightly easier on paper than the last day. Should produce another solid run and can hopefully provide this new trainer with another winner.

Todays Racing Tip – NORWAY
Time & Track – 3.05 Ascot (19/06)
Best Odds – 3/1 @ William Hill
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Won a listed event at Newmarket last season over a 1m2f when staying on well through the line and his seasonal debut this year saw him finish a held second to stablemate Sir Dragonet but again he kept up to his work well over the extended 1m4f. He was ridden prominently to set up the race for his trainer’s other runners in the Derby but shaped as though this extra yardage would suit and his rider that day eased him down inside the final furlong. Ryan Moore has chosen to ride this son of Galileo and he’s certainly going into this race with a great chance. I also like Jalmoud to run a big race but with the recent record O’Brien has in the Queen’s Vase it’s his colt who gets the nod from me.

Todays Racing Tip – CRYSTAL OCEAN
Time & Track – 3.40 Ascot (19/06)
Best Odds – 9/2 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Was a close third two years ago in the King Edward VII but landed the Hardwicke at last year’s meeting (both Group 2’s) when winning by over two-lengths. His subsequent neck second in the Group 1 King George VI along with filling the same position behind Enable gives this five-year old a good chance, especially if able to reproduce that form of last year. Unbeaten in two starts so far this season with his best effort on RPR’s coming over this shorter 1m2f trip at Sandown and with the ground on the soft side it’ll probably require one who can stay further than this which applies to this horse. He’s won a Group 3 on soft as well as a fair second behind Cracksman on Champions Day so should handle conditions and Frankie Dettori is a good replacement for usual pilot Ryan Moore, who is required to ride the favourite Magical for A P O’Brien.
Result – Won +4.5
Todays Racing Tip – RAISING SAND
Time & Track – 5.00 Ascot (19/06)
Best Odds – 8/1 @ William Hill
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Boasts a very good course record with three wins (twice over C&D) along with numerous close efforts, the best of those was when third behind future Group 1 Queen Anne winners Accidental Agent and Lord Glitters. He’s won on both soft and good-to-soft so the rainfall yesterday would have come as a welcome surprise for connections. He was beaten just under two-lengths off this mark on seasonal reappearance last month and with that under his belt he should come on for this and with the pace seemingly drawn on his side this seven-year old might just get the toe into the race which he needs.
