Analysis – This three-year old has been in consistent form throughout the majority of this calendar year so far with a couple of wins as well as numerous placed efforts. He was a winner on the synthetics back in February and added to that with a C&D victory off 5lb lower last month. He’s since finished in the places in four successive races and despite a further 2lb rise in the weights the step back up to 7f will suit having finished with a flurry over 6f the last day when denied by a nose in a heavy ground Ayr handicap. Sean Davis is a good booking and can claim a handy 3lb so I’d be hopeful this gelding can go close once again.

Analysis – Both runs this year over the extended 1m3f have resulted in a win and a close second both at Yarmouth and just 2lb higher than for that success this four-year old could still be on a winning mark. He’s won over 2m over hurdles but doesn’t seem to stay the longer trips on the flat so he can be forgiven a couple of below average runs in between those Yarmouth outings so the drop back to 1m4f looks the right move. Archie Watson sends him up north for this and Brodie Hampson is a positive jockey booking in this amatuer riders’ race.
