Today’s Horse Racing Tips
Todays Racing Tip – PORT SWTAN
Time & Track – 1.50 Musselburgh (20/04)
Best Odds – 7/2 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – This four-year old displayed good form when in the hands of Charles Hills, winning four times including twice over this 7f trip and he can be forgiven his last two runs for that yard with them coming on a soft/heavy terrain. This gelding bounced right back to form on stable debut over track and trip at the beginning of the month beating a few of these in the process and there’s a strong possibility that from a 3lb higher mark he’ll have more to come. Of those re-opposing I think Raselasad is the danger though may be inconvenienced by his wide berth.

Todays Racing Tip – CAUSE TOUJOURS
Time & Track – 2.05 Haydock (20/04)
Best Odds – 5/1 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – This gelding went off favourite in the 2017 Champion Bumper at the festival and though only ninth he may have found the track a bit too demanding. He’s been much better on flatter tracks since, landing a double in early summer last year (Kempton and Aintree) and he was a really good second over C&D on his penultimate start in a listed event behind Grand Sancy, form of which has taken a big boost by that rival since (won a Grade 2 & placed in both Grade 1 & 3). He arrives a fresh horse having not ran since December but has won after a break like this before, he’s lightly-raced and has his ground so holds strong claims in a widely open contest.

Todays Racing Tip – BALLYBOUGH NORA
Time & Track – 2.10 Newton Abbot
Best Odds – 8/1 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – This six-year old still has plenty of time on her side and though not successful over hurdles as of yet this 3m2f trip might be what’s needed to see her get her head in front. She’s not been beaten by an overly wide-margin in three handicap starts (2m5f-2m7f) and is 2lb lower than for those here. The mare has won a point-to-point and is a daughter of Oscar so should be suited by this longer trip, comes from a yard going great guns (38% strike-rate past fortnight) and with plenty of question marks surrounding the other runners she may be slightly overpriced for one who has untapped potential over the trip and entitled to improve.

Todays Racing Tip – SKIDOOSH
Time & Track – 3.15 Haydock (20/04)
Best Odds – 7/1 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Had been progressing really nicely over hurdles this campaign until underperforming at Newbury when sent off favourite. He can be excused that run on account of the soft ground as he’d earlier been running well on good which included when bolting up prior to the flop, winning by six-lengths at Doncaster over this extended 3m trip. Ben Pauling has a 22% strike-rate from nine runners at this track and only has two running on the card (other one is the outsider in this same contest) and the booking of Lorcan Williams for the first time looks a big positive in my eyes as he’s 6/12 (50%) in the past fortnight and is well worth his 5lb claim. If bouncing back to form I’d be shocked if he wasn’t heavily involved at the finish.
