Analysis – A very open finale and a difficult puzzle to solve but at a tempting price Charlie Fellowes’ five-year old could go well. He’s returned too action with a couple of four-length defeats (one in a higher grade) and has now slipped back down to his last winning mark of 86, achieved in a class 2 on good ground at York last July. He ended last campaign with a close fourth behind the now 117-rated Addeybb (won the Lincoln and a Group 3 since) and his only bad run on turf came over a longer trip. Richard Kingscote is an interesting jockey booking for this trainer and he’s not been drawn too badly.

Analysis – This five-year old won with a bit up his sleeve at Hamilton last week and a 6lb penalty here may not be an issue as the front tow pulled well clear of the rest. He travelled powerfully and showed a nice attitude when fending off the runner-up and should put up a bold bid now turned out again swiftly with his yard currently operating at a 25% strike-rate in past fortnight. Silvestre De Sousa takes over the reigns and this five-year old is 3/5 on good-to-firm ground, looks the one to beat.

Analysis – 0/4 so far and was beaten six-lengths on handicap debut the last day at Sandown over a mile-and-a-quarter when fading inside the final furlong. This slightly shorter trip should suit and the horse just ahead of him that day won a valuable class 2 handicap last Saturday to give the form a boost. The application of first-time blinkers and a return to quicker ground can see this colt go closer now eased in grade with stable-jockey Andrea Atzeni back in the saddle.
