Analysis – Only career win over hurdles came over this C&D when winning a novice event on good ground, beating a now rated 135 hurdler & 143 chaser. He was deemed good enough to run in this year’s Supreme Novice’s hurdle despite finishing well down the field excuses can be made (heavy ground and much stronger opposition). He’s now in much calmer waters and dropped to a mark of just 115 and Brodie Hampson is more than capable in the saddle. A recent length-and-a-half defeat on the level was a good effort and hopefully he can go well again, in a grade were he’s yet to unlace from four starts (one win).

Analysis – Les Eyre has his string in fine fettle of late currently operating at a 32% strike-rate over the past four weeks and his six-year old mare is taken to continue this good spell. She was beaten in this contest by a neck last year and is now 5lb lower this time around. Although she’s thoroughly exposed her record at this track is solid having won four times with the most recent coming over C&D on her penultimate start under today’s pilot Silvestre De Sousa. The slightly longer trip wouldn’t have suited last time out when fifth so dropping back in trip here will suit and I’d be surprised if she’s not seriously involved.
