Analysis – Only victory so far came in a seven-furlong maiden on debut last year though he went close in a Group 3 event over this C&D last October on this forecast good ground. He was soundly beaten when upped to 1m2f on penultimate outing but either side of that run he was far from disgraced from higher marks over a mile with a couple of those coming in a higher grade on ground that wouldn’t have suited. He likes to race prominently and Richard Kingscote is a good judge from the front so back on this better ground he could well provide some value.

Analysis – After going close on first two starts over a mile, this three-year old colt underwent a wind op before blitzing the field in a Windsor novice in heavy ground stepped up to 1m2f by 14-lengths and he followed that up when winning the Group 3 Classic Trial at Sandown on good-to-soft. He found both the Derby and Voltigeur Stakes too hot to handle on most recent outings but they were both run on genuine summer ground and with conditions easing now he may well bounce right back to form in this listed event with the step up to 2m looking likely to suit (trainer has him entered in Group 2 Long Distance Cup at Ascot). Also worth noting that John Gosden has won four of the last six renewals of this contest, on those pieces of evidence he looks overpriced here.
