Analysis – Since stepping up to 1m6f this three year old has produced improved form including a win from 5lb lower on good-to-firm ground. He was even better when third at Bath (based on RPR’s) and now only a pound higher he could well still be on the upgrade, the 2m on soft ground in a higher grade wouldn’t have suited the last day so the fact he was only beaten just under two-lengths would give this son of Teofilo and good chance now dropped in grade/trip and back on a quicker terrain, Oisin Murphy does the steering.

Analysis – Novice winner over 1m4f after a near miss on debut back at the start of April, this colt ran well in a more expensive race than this at York when third (again over 1m4f) and on first try over 1m6f (heavy) he shaped as though he’ll improve for it, the drying conditions will suit better and I think this son of Galileo should play a major role from the same mark in a trappy little contest.
