Analysis – Can be forgiven his latest sixth at Pontefract as that tends to be a specialists course, but he’d previously been in good heart having won two of his previous four as well as a close second off this mark on penultimate outing. He’s entered in an easier race than this on Tuesday so connections must feel the horse is capable of taking this with the underfoot conditions ideal and he’s already got a C&D win to his name, should go well.

Analysis – This filly has won her only previous start on heavy ground, at Windsor last spring, and was also successful on soft ground at Haydock earlier this campaign. She’s 6lb higher now but did run a good race over track and trip the last day from this mark and the form of that race has taken a couple of boosts since with two winners coming out of it. The favourite is in good form at present and might just win this but Stella Barclay’s four-year old could be the one to serve it up to him with her sitting 2lb below her highest winning mark, she’s certainly got each-way claims.
