Todays Racing Tip – CAPTAIN DUNNE
Time & Track – 3.20 REDCAR
Best Odds – 16-1 B365
Analysis – He had been threatening to win his 13th career race until his last 2 runs but for me there have been genuine excuses for them and this does
represent his best chance in a long time of recording another victory. Both thtose last 2 runs were on good/soft which for me doesn’t suit him quite
so well as the faster ground as he is a horse all about speed. Last time at Chester it was better company than this so was excusable. Today he has
trip/track/draw/ground all to suit plus he’s been dropped a further 3lbs to 66 his lowest mark ever and Rachel Richardson back on who has won his last
5 races on him. He ticks every box the only negative is his age, he’s 11 now and with 5 3yos in the field the question is does he still have the legs
on this his 98th career race.

Todays Racing Tip – BERRY DE CARJAC
Time & Track – 5.45 PERTH
Best Odds – 10-1 BFSB
Analysis – I tipped him a couple of times over hurdles where he ran well with out winning. He was unlucky not to win at Wincanton when sauntering into
the lead at the last only to stumble and fall. He made his chase debut last time out at Worcester, where he ran well to be 4th, he looked to jump
well. That was a Class 4 0-120 contest where he only got ran out of contention between the last 2 fences todays race is a Class 4 0-105 h’cap so
a much easier contest. The possible negative is the extended trip as he’s not tried 3m before.

Todays Racing Tip – GREEN HOWARD
Time & Track – 5.35 REDCAR
Best Odds – 20-1 B365
Analysis – He falls into similar category as both Mercers Row and Captain Dunne in taking a drop in grade due the h’cap mark being dropped for some
below par efforts. He was well fancied and well backed for a much better grade of race last time at York. The last time he ran in Class 5 company
was as a 2yo in 2011 when he won 3 of his 6 races 2 of those h’caps. Since then he’s contested much higher grade races so this drop to 0-75 Class
5 h’cap should make life a bit easier for him, he also has first time tongue tie which might suggest they found a reason for his poor effort last
time. He is yet to win over 10F but has run well over the trip on numerous occassions suggesting it shouldn’t be a problem to him and D.Tudhope
rides him again who rode him to all his 3 Class 5 wins as a 2yo and has won on him on 4 of his 8 career wins from the 12 times he’s ridden him.

Todays Racing Tip – MERCERS ROW
Time & Track – 6.05 REDCAR
Best Odds – 9-1 B365
Analysis – Another well fancied and well backed last time out including by us when I tipped him at 25-1 he went off at just 8-1. I fully expect
him to be supported again here as he drops into Class 6 company on the back of being dropped 2lb for that run at Thirsk. He’s won 9 of his
74 career races off marks ranging from 61-76 which makes todays mark of 65 look very tempting as thats 11lb lower than the mark he won a Class
4 contest off in October 2015. He’s also a 2 times CD winner on good/soft & good/firm so the ground shouldn’t be a problem.
