Analysis - Ended last campaign with a close fifth over seven-furlongs when staying on well to the line (step back up to 1m a good move) and that race looks slightly stronger than this. He’s won on reappearance the past two seasons so this may be the best time to catch him and he’ll handle the ground just fine having won twice on good-to-soft. He’s only a pound higher than when winning in this grade at Haydock at the end of April last year and all bar one of his wins have come under Nathan Evans. This is a tough handicap but I’m quite hopeful he’ll run a nice race.

Analysis - Has struggled in all bar one race since scoring here over 2m1f in June and as a result this eleven-year-old is sitting on a 2lb lower mark. He’s won once and finished a close second twice at this course from four outings and he’s won seven times on good ground. Returned from a break when last of six at Doncaster but that came in a much stronger race than this and if this gelding can reproduce some of his best runs from last season I think he’ll be good enough to defy top-weight with plenty of boxes being ticked.

Analysis - Has ran well in third the last twice, both over longer trips when seemingly not seeing out the extra distance and he now drops back to a trip which is more suited to him. He was successful at Warwick back in November from a 2lb lower mark and he’s partnered here by 3lb-claimer Kevin Jones who has a good relationship with the gelding (has won three times on him). He’s a nice jumper, has ground/trip to suit and can still be competitive off this mark so I see no reason why he can’t run a big race.
