Analysis – This gelding ran well enough over seven-furlongs in novice.maiden races before going down by three-quarters-of-a-length on handicap debut over a mile on Newcastle’s tapeta back in November. He was upped to this mile-and-a-quarter journey for reappearance at the start of the month when shaping as though this trip is where we’ll see this gelding at his best (beaten just over two lengths). Remains on the same mark in the same conditions here and it’s possible he’ll be in the shake up again with more improvement likely over this trip.

Analysis – Was pulled up on first three outings in handicaps (all on soft/heavy) but has since posted a couple of much better efforts now slipping down the weights, firstly when fourth over a couple of furlongs further before her best effort over course and distance just five days ago beaten five lengths in second on good ground. The better ground looks to suit and Harry Cobden back in the saddle is a positive. I’ll be disappointed if she’s not thereabouts at the finish.

Analysis – Despite failing to score in a handicap to date, this seven-year old has been posting some solid efforts and his first two runs for Tim Vaughan have suggested that he’s getting closer. His first start for the yard was when beaten six-lengths and he went even closer last time out when a two-and-a-half length second, both in class 3 company over this trip. He’s been eased in grade and upped only 2lb to a mark of 113 which he previously lost by a length again in a higher grade. His only victory over hurdles came in a novice event over this trip on good ground so a return to this quicker surface might be just what’s needed to gain victory and he should be right there.
