Analysis – Has been in good form this year having won twice as well as finishing second twice in past four outings. Those runs have been on soft ground at Chepstow but he’s gone well on better ground previously and Nick Schofiled has struck up a nice rapport with this ten-year old. Looks set to continue this good run of form despite racing from 9lb above last winning mark now eased slightly in grade.

Analysis – Won a conditional’s race over this track and trip at the end of last month under Bryony Frost and the horse in second that day won next time out. He’s been raised 6lb for that win but his jockey is able to claim her 3lb and still remains 2lb below his highest winning perch so is still handicapped to go well. He relishes the quicker ground (all wins on good or better) and the distance and class are both in favour too.

Analysis – This nine-year old won both a Group 2 & 3 last year on good ground (beat Oh This Is Us by four lengths when conceding 5lb, now off level weights here). The slightly softer ground shouldn’t be a problem and trainer Ruth Carr seldom sends her runners this far south and has a 33% strike-rate at this course. Despite the veteran of the field, this gelding should go close if back to best after being held on seasonal reappearance a few weeks back.
