Analysis – Not been in great form this season but that may be on account of the ground being too lively for him. His two victories to date have come on good-to-soft ground (both around the same time last year), which is the forecasted ground here and he’s slipped down to a mark which is 6lb below his only handicap success. Andrea Atzeni is a good booking (lost by a neck on this gelding on only time he’s ridden him) and in the hope the change of headgear can help he could be overpriced in this.

Analysis – One of the older challengers in this field, his record at this course speak volumes having accumulated four wins from ten starts (three placed) he’s won 50% of his races on the forecasted soft ground (7/14). He was beaten a half-length from this mark over C&D last week and the horse just in front came out and won on Sunday and he won from a pound lower in a higher grade here last month. Still sitting 10lb below his highest winning perch, this horse is partnered again by Rossa Ryan who is 2/5 on this gelding and he should run a big race here.

Analysis – Has performed well over in France so far, won on debut over the extended 1m2f and has gone close in a couple of Group 3’s (all on soft ground) one of which was beaten a nose by future Group 1 winner Recoletos who was a good second behind Alpha Centauri last week in Deauville. He was out of his depth in both the Arc and the Prix du Jockey Club (both Group 1’s) but the drop in trip to a mile for the first time when last seen was promising when winning by three-lengths. The ground is quicker here but connections have said that he should appreciate it and they wouldn’t be bringing him over if they didn’t fancy his chances, Maxime Guyon is back on board, worth taking the favourite on with him.
