Analysis – Very lightly-raced four-year old who has won two handicaps over this mile-and-a-half trip on quick ground (one was over C&D). He won his last handicap off a mark of 95 and is now rated 113 but a couple of very respectable efforts in Group 3 company on last two starts has shown that he’s deserved this rating. He was 2nd on latest outing in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes behind the impressive Poet’s Word and with this four-year old still unexposed he must hold leading claims despite an unfavourable draw.

Analysis – Won four from five outings last season which included a Group 2 & 3 before ending his campaign with a Group 1 success over in Chantilly (won by four lengths). He was held in the Nunthorpe at York but reappeared this season with a good win in the Temple Stakes at Haydock when conceding weight all round and he looks the one to be on in this, despite having to concede 3lb to the filly Lady Aurelia. He goes on this quicker ground and has shown his blistering speed over the minimum trip so could have too much for the field.

Analysis – Ran a blinder from the front in the Irish 2000 Guineas last month when probably doing too much too early from the front. He’s drawn wide in this which may help him get into a better position. He won the Dewhurst at Newmarket pretty decisively in October and he’s the choice of Ryan Moore. Holds strong credentials in an open contest for strong connections.
