Analysis – Three times winner over timber wit most recent coming two years ago from a 6lb lower mark. He spent last year chasing and accounted for the now 153-rated and Grade 1 winner Black Corton over this 2m5f trip in a Worcester novice and he reappeared recently back over hurdles at the same course when beaten by just under two-lengths. That was a solid effort and although an eight-year old, he’s still lightly-raced and the fact Nicky Henderson is sending him this far north would suggest he’s going there trying. He’s done all his winning on good ground so as long as there’s not too much rain then a big run can be anticipated (expect if there is a deluge he’ll be a N/R).

Analysis – His hat-trick bid was thwarted when upped into class 2 company at Goodwood when tailed off but can be forgiven that on account of the soft ground and this three-year old had previously won three of last four all over this 1m2f trip, one of which came at this track. He’s 5lb higher than for that course win (had a subsequent winner in behind that day) but should appreciate being dropped down into a class 4 and also has the assistance of Silvestre De Sousa again (on board for Sandown success). If able to put that last run behind him, this son of So You Think should go close.
