Gary Priestley Results : September 2nd
Todays Racing Tip – FEVER FEW
Time & Track – 2.35 ASCOT
Best Odds – 33-1 B365 BVIC PP CORAL BF SB
Analysis – He’s a 4 times career winner 3 over 7F & 1 over 6F, his 3 turf wins were all on good or good/firm ground so conditions
suit him well. He’s never won in Class 4 company though which is a slight worry but he has won off a higher mark than he runs off here. He won a Class
5 0-75 over 7F at Lingfield last August and runs here off 73. The fact he hasn’t won in this class is reflected in his price of 33-1 which does looks
like a nice ew price.
Result – Lost -2
Todays Racing Tip – BANCNAUNAHEIREANN
Time & Track – 4.20 ASCOT
Best Odds – 10-1 B365 BVIC PP WHILL
Analysis – He’s won 6 of his 45 career races with 3 on turf and 3 on the AW. He ran well over CD last time when beaten only 1L by
Early Morning on his first run for 7months. As long as he has come on for that run, we can expect he’ll finish a lot closer to Early Morning, especially
on 5lb better terms when taking the jockeys 3lb claim into account. He has won off a mark of 102 under todays jockey over 10F at Chelmsford that
win came on the back of a previous win again over 10F over the same CD off a mark of 96 the same as today.
Result – Lost -2
Todays Racing Tip – MISTER MUSIC
Time & Track – 5.25 KEMPTON
Best Odds – 12-1 B365 SKYBET BVIC WHILL
Analysis – This one has won for me in the past at Goodwood off marks much higher than he runs off nowadys though he ran well off this
mark fo 78 last time at Newmarket. He has only run on the AW twice before both times here at Kempton finishing 5th of 7 beaten 2l in a class 2
off 98 and 2nd of 15 again in Class 2 off 97, so todays Class 4 off 78 with quality apprentice George Downing riding him looks up his street. The
concern with this race is the number of improving 3yos with their 5lb weight allowance could be anything especially the fc fav The Fly.
Result – 2nd +1.2
Todays Racing Tip – KINGLAMI
Time & Track – 9.00 KEMPTON
Best Odds – 14-1 B365 BVIC WHILL
Analysis – He’s a 5 times winner including 2 on the AW one of which was here at Kempton. His last 3 wins have all come in Class
4 company at Windsor over 6F off marks of 74-75-82 so today’s race represents a significant drop in Class and off 12lb lower mark than his
last win in May 2015. His form this season hasn’t been great though he did run well at 100-1 in a class 2 h’cap at Salisbury back in June only
weakening in the last furlong. There are quite a few last time out winners in the race and I think this is why we are getting such a decent
price about the selection as I believe he’s nearer a 7-1 chance.
Result – 3rd +1.8
Todays Racing Tip – MUNJALLY
Time & Track – 5.05 NEWCASTLE
Best Odds – 12-1 B365 BVIC WHILL
Analysis – This is a dire affair which won’t take much winning. I’m taking a bit of a chance on Munjally who is a little bit
of a difficult ride who should have won 3 races ago at Hamilton. The regular visor is exchanged here for first time blinkers the hope is
that might just bring out a little extra. He’s another to have tumbled down the weights having been rated in the 80’s as a 2yo to now only
55. His last run wasn’t a great run but the whole race was a little strange with the 50-1 outsider going off 20 lengths ahead and holding
on. He has run twice on the AW before finishing 6th and 3rd.
Result – 2nd +2
