Roma vs Inter Milan Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

Roma and Inter is always a fantastic clash. The hosts have been hard to play against at home so far, but Inter are always very organised on the road. We're expecting a tight game at the Olimpico on Sundayevening. Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.

Game:  Roma vs Inter Milan
Venue: Stadio Olimpico
Kick off: Sunday 2nd October, 7.45pm

Inter Milan and Roma find themselves on 11 and 10 points respectively having played six games of the new Serie A season. Roma's league position can be attributed to their home form alone as they've won all three games at StadioOlimpico. They've yet to win away from home, but of course that isn't relevant here.
Inter have won their last two games on their travels after losing their first, but they've not faced particularly tough opposition so far. Pescara and Empoli were beaten 2-1 and 2-0 respectively, but Chievo beat them 2-0 at the start of the season. Inter have been a tough team to beat on the road through the last two seasons.

This is always a big fixture and the fans play their part. The home side have won four of the last six games and have drawn the remainder, but overall Roma have had their way with the visitors. They've won six and drawn six of the last 14 games they've played against Inter.

Match Predictions and Betting Tips

Roma are best odds 21/20 with Betfred to record a home win here whilst the draw can be backed at odds of 5/2 with William Hill amongst several other outlets. Inter Milan to win is available at a price of 16/5 with Coral.

Roma have scored 11 goals at home in their last three games, allowing only two. Defensively they've been good apart from the game against Porto which saw them down to nine men by half time. There was never any way back from that.

All of Inter's games have been tight, as they've played out a pair of 1-1 draws and edged out Juventus, Empoli and Pescara 2-1 all in their last five games. The win against Juventus shows just how organised they are and that they can compete in these big games, but that did take place at home. I would expect this game to follow the pattern of Inter's tight tussles rather than Roma's free scoring affairs.

Although we expect this to be a tight game, their should be plenty of goalmouth action. Both teams have been good in front of goal and reasonably solid in defence. This game should take on more of a defensive pattern than in games where these teams have had their way, but I still expect them to break each other down. Back Over 2.5/Both Teams to Score at odds of 1/1 with Stan James as our free betting tip.
Although we do expect both teams to get involved in the goals here, neither side will want to give too much away and it should be a tough game for both. I think Roma look good enough at home that they'll just prevail here, but it won't be easy. Back Roma to win 2-1 at odds of  6/1 with bet365

Diego Perotti, Francesco Totti and Mohammed Salah have all been a threat going forward this season with three goals each. Perotti has been registering his from the spot, but EdinDzeko narrowly leads the way with four goals in six appearances this season. Back Edin Dzeko to score at 13/8 with Sky Bet.
