Todays Racing Tip – COMMUNIQUE
Time & Track – 5.35 Ascot (21/06)
Best Odds – 8/1 @ William Hill
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Has taken well handicaps in two starts since going close three times in novice events over a mile. Was stepped up to a mile-and-a-quarter on handicap debut when beaten four-lengths on softer than ideal ground behind Dubhe, I can see those placing being reversed here on this better ground over this longer trip. He won the the London Gold Cup at Newbury the last day (under Silvestre De Sousa who rides again) in a style that suggests this step up to mile-and-a-half will bring about more improvement (was not stopping at the line, won by just under two-lengths). Up 9lb for that but is on the upgrade and last seven winners have come from a double-figured draw so stall 18 looks good. Typical open race but he goes there with a good chance in my opinion.

Todays Racing Tip – WILD ILLUSION
Time & Track – 3.40 Ascot (21/06)
Best Odds – 11/4 @ SkyBet
Stake – 3pt win
Analysis – All four runs in group company after a debut novel win at York have been very respectable runs. She went close in a Chantilly group 3 before going on to win a group 1 over the same one-mile trip. She was a solid fourth in the 1000 Guineas and posted an even better effort at the beginning of the month when second in the Oaks when stepped up to this mile-and-a-half journey for the first time. She’s got the best form on offer in this and is open to more improvement over this trip, versatile ground-wise and could take some beating despite carrying 3lb more than the field.

Todays Racing Tip – KONCHEK
Time & Track – 2.30 Ascot (21/06)
Best Odds – 4/1 @ Bet365
Stake – 2pt win
Analysis – This colt won nicely on debut at Newmarket winning with a bit up his sleeve and he went down by a half-length when third in a Sandown listed event last time out. He was beaten by the re-opposing Vintage Brut by had to overcome a wide-draw and was hampered coming out the gates. He kept on well that day and with a clearer run in this should be reversing the placings with the aforementioned. Clive Cox went close to a winner yesterday with one of his two-year old sprinters and will be hoping for compensation here.
